Om Shanti Herbal Body Care Products

>> November 24, 2008

Here in Ohio, it is currently 23 degrees!!
It is also Cold & Flu Season!!

Since I have 2 small children, I tend to wash my hands multiple times a day in an effort to stop the spread of germs.  This combined with that cold air results in my hands becoming sore and cracked.  My cuticles fair the worst because for some reason, no matter how much lotion I apply, they still crack and get painful hangnails.
Kate from Omshanti is no stranger to cold weather either.  She resides in beautiful Colorado just east of the Rocky Mountains.  Following a visit with her mom who had complained about sore cracked cuticles, Kate was determined to make a product that would remedy that for her mom.

"After a bunch of research and a fair amount of testing I have invented my Lavender Citrus Cuticle Salve. Lavender soothes and heals inflamed cuticles (and smells lovely to boot) and the citrus -- lemon and grapefruit essential oils -- is an antiseptic and helps cool and shrink swollen tissue.
It's all in a base of moisturizing olive oil, nourishing coconut butter, beeswax, and vitamin E oil. Each jar contains an ounce and a half of Lavender Citrus Cuticle Salve, and as always, is 100% all-natural."
My cuticles thank you Omshanti :-)
In addition to the wonderful Cuticle Salve, Kate also makes handmade Lip Balm, Soap, Foot Salve, Bath Salts among many other items.

This past summer, Kate also began making beautiful handmade jewelry.

A couple other things that you will appreciate about Omshanti:
* Environmentally sound: she uses recycled or reused packing material to ship, and everything she makes is done in a smoke-free environment
Custom: Labels for any of her bath and body products. Perfect for a personalized bridesmaid gift, anniversary present, bridal or baby shower gift.
* Safe: Unless otherwise (CLEARLY) noted, she uses no nut oils or other such products.

WIN IT:
Now you have a chance to win your own Lavender Citrus Cuticle Salve.  All you have to do is visit Omshanti, take a look around and then come back and leave a comment telling me what your favorite product is other than the cuticle salve and why you like it.
