Hip T

>> December 1, 2008

Something happened after I had my babies.  Even after I lost my baby weight, the clothes that I once love no longer felt good.  Everything in my closet magically got shorter.  I could no longer stand to wear any shirt that would show flesh when my arms were raised.  What's a girl to do?  Revert back to the early 90's when bodysuits were in style? I don't think so!

The other problem that I run into frequently is jeans.  Most jeans today that are stylish are low slung.  And we all know what that means.  You bend over to help your kids with something and you're flashing Plumber crack to the world.  Once again, what's a girl to do?  We could resort to wearing the good ole' fashioned "Mom Pants."  You know the ones.  They go up past your belly button and most likely include some pleats in the front somewhere.

I don't like either one of these options.  Picturing myself in "Mom Pants" and wearing a Bodysuit  just makes me want to cringe!  I was so excited when I heard about Hip-T.  This simple yet innovative product has solved both of my problems in one fell swoop.

"Whether you spend your day at a desk in school, the office, or simply find yourself bending to tie a youngster’s shoe a dozen times a day, you deserve a protected rear view. We all have had wacky ways to hide the side (or rather back end) effects of our favorite jeans. Our company, g3 Originals is committed to providing ladies everywhere with an easy, comfortable and stylish way to cover their assets and clean up the rear view for everyone's viewing pleasure."

love the black lace and the pink lace- wish the gray was in lace though. You know its the fact that the shirt fit nice before baby and after its too tiny- some women tend to feel fat because of that- in reality- look at the boobs- they grew and aare pulling the shirt up- ok thats my excuse...my most embarrassing is when some guy called me red over and over- I was holding the baby and I thought he was calling me red because of red sunstreaks- later that day I was like oh doh he saw my red underwear- see totally dunce too! mrs.mommyyatgmaildotcom

Steph at Problem Solvin' Mom December 1, 2008 6:14 AM

I love the burnt orange, but would likely get the most use out of the gray.

I took Sweetpea to an indoor playground yesterday and was appalled to see a sweet little 4ish year old showing crack - that is just totally wrong!

my email's in my profile - great giveaway!

StacieV,  December 1, 2008 7:13 AM

I love the black one and its definitely one of my favourite colours.

My story is mildly embarrassing...I went out for a night of dancing at a local bar many years ago and I was wearing black fake leather pants. They were in style I think back in 2000. I danced the night away and had a great time. When I got home I realized I had split the pants down the bumb crack at the back and to top it off I was wearing a thong so everyone would have seen my bum!! I didn't even realize it!! No one said anything to me so I don't know how many people saw it. Anyways, I threw the pants out and never wore fake leather again!

Mine happens just about every Sunday at church when I bend down to get my son out of his carseat...lol, One day hubby threw a blanket over the crack...thanks ;-)

I am following your blog.

I am really digging the basic brown.

This looks like a great solution to a BIG problem - and I mean big as in epidemic.

Favorite crack story: I am really sick of people saying "nice underwear" everytime I bend or sit. Please save me any further embarrassment and let me win this contest. Once I try it I have a feeling I will buy several more.

Corine December 1, 2008 10:30 AM

Very cute idea. I love the black and the white ones.. A neutral color will go with any colored shirt.

I have multiple plumbers crack stories. My underwear are always peaking out whenever I have to bend down to pick up my kids... Im always trying to lift up my pants so it doesnt happen... very embarassing when in public!

PainterMommy December 1, 2008 10:52 AM

Hard to pick which color I like best.... probably white, wait no, black....no white...ugh! :)

Well, as far as a story, hmmmm..... I can't stand always having to pull my pants up, especially with the low rise pant style of today. I do remember one time that my son said to me in public that my underwear was showing. The only thing though is that I was not wearing my sexy underwear - I was wearing the granny ones that day. LOL

caroline December 1, 2008 11:39 AM

I love the navy one.

My issues aren't so much with crack showing but with my tummy showing. Not real funny but something in the way I pick up my daughter tends to make my shirt rise too.

I think the cream would be most useful for me. I just like them to give that cute layered look. I have to say that being a little older..I can still find the Lee jeans that are cut higher up...so I don't have the crack problem myself...but I see plenty of girls that could sure use this!!

I like the pink ones, but the black would be more functional I think. What a great idea!

Uhh, I had a friend who was quite large, who had an old green back tattoo that I saw way too often, right on top of her crack. I wish she either pulled her pants up, work longer shirts, or had a hip-T. :)

Staci December 1, 2008 9:32 PM

I love the basic black, since it would match everything.

Ugh, a story...I took my then 3 year old into a restroom at Burger King, and he was going to the bathroom, and I had leaned over in front of him to get something. He loudly announces, "Those are very colorful underwear, mommy." I could hear other women giggling outside the door. Yeah, I wanted to die just about then.

My favorite color is black. My plumber crack stories could be endless. Honestly, every time I bend over my crack seems to sneak out. I always joked when I was younger that I would have it sewn up an inch or so someday. I either need this shirt or I should schedule some surgery. Thanks for the giveaway!

Shel December 1, 2008 10:19 PM

Saw your giveaway on twitter.

My favorite color is cream, I could wear that with any shirt I own.

My story, I lost a bit of weight with Weight Watchers last year and I kept trying to wear my size 18 jeans even though they don't fit well anymore. We stopped at Petsmart and I bent over to pet someone's dog and my son yelled behind me "Moon over Cleveland". Later he said "Good God, Mom..warn a guy before you decide to show him your granny panties again.

I would love the charcoal gray!

Every time I wear my old jeans and squat down to do something for my son (fix his shoe, zip his jacket, etc), I am sure that someone is checking out my behind! I try not to wear them anymore, but sometimes they're the only clean pair... :)

coriwestphal December 1, 2008 11:25 PM

and as far as a story -- man i have a million! i'm not sure if it is just my generation or what (i'm early mid twenties) but all the jeans i find good looking are WAY low! i have had many friends tell me to pull up my jeans but it feels horrible when a professor does! =(

I love the charcoal gray. What a great idea! I would have appreciated this when my daughter opened the door to the restroom on a plane & I was bent over (yes, the crack was definitely showing!) picking up something she had dropped. I turned around to have an entire row staring at me while my then 3-year-old chatted away with them... Oh, my...

I'd love to have the black lacy one!! (my email address is in my blogger profile)

I had a "plumber crack" incident last Sunday while I was working in the nursery at our church. All of the sudden I heard my two year old say, "Mama, I can see your bum!!". Lovely - just what I want to be showing off at church, to 2 year olds nonetheless. Yikes!

kerry,  December 2, 2008 11:47 AM

I love black! I was blessed with buns, so my plumbers crack experiences happen all the time.

At my old job, I had a co-worker look at me and say "pink" I didn't know what he was talking about until a couple of days later when he looked at me and said "red" Then I realized that he was talking about the color of my underwear. I don't know if I was more embarrassed or grossed out.

These are cool! My fav would be the black with lace - sexy and goes with everything!

My husband loves my plumbers crack...but my favorite plumbers crack experience was when my BF's 3 year old son was standing behind me laughing (I was crouching down to play with the kids)..I turned around & he was pointing at my butt - you could clearly see the top of my thong & apparently he enjoyed it very much!

These are just GREAT....my favorite is the dark fuschia.

These days I am all about comfort so I don't have any "Crack" stories to share..but let me tell you...I have had ENOUGH repairman around the house...and do they REALLY have to live up their reputation?? C'mon boys...pull up your pants!!! LOL!! (Or invest in a belt, at least :)

Jayme December 2, 2008 6:37 PM

i like the white one, it would look good with anything.

i was visiting my sister and nieces this past summer and when i was sitting on the floor playing with my niece when she told be that my butt was broken. i said, what does that mean? she then told me that my crack was showing!! she's only 4!!

I like the Basic White the best!

How about bending over to pick up one of your 5 year old vacation Bible school students in front of the whole congregation during the commencement program....TOTALLY humiliating! Please pick me...My church will thank you! LOL!

Ashley December 2, 2008 10:50 PM

I like the black color.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I was leaning over to clean up something from the floor when my son came up behind me and started poking his hands into my crack. At least nobody was around as he thought it was really funny.

JULIE December 3, 2008 1:25 PM

I think I'd go with the basic black or the black with lace trim...both would go with everything.

My story is that since the lowering of waistlines in jeans I've had to wear a belt to keep from showing crack. Now, however I'm in the early stages of pregnancy...just enough where I can still wear my jeans, but where a belt is uncomfortable...so it makes it that much harder not to show a crack!! I've taken to sitting with my back to the solid bookshelves in the kiddie section at the library after my crack was pointed out to me a couple times by my nanny charges!!

i like the heather gray hip-t.

as for my story, i once wore a really low rise pant with a short shirt that just barely touched my pants. let's just say i refused to bend down low or high up to reach something that day. i was so mad at myself for not having worn something for enough coverage but i guess i wanted to go for comfort that day!

I think I would use black the most!

I am always bending over and showing cra@#. After having Naomi my regular pants are still too tight, and the ones I wear are too big, and my belts don't fit right!! UGH!!

DOODLEGIRL December 4, 2008 2:01 PM

I would like the basic Hip-T in aqua (I have black and brown already). One day, not too long ago, my brother-in-law pointed out that he could see my butt crack. How embarassing!

Little Piddles December 4, 2008 6:01 PM

I'd love the white or black. I am constintly pulling my pants up before I bend over as force of habit so my crack doesn't show. Please help me to break this annoying habit:)

Lilith Silvermane December 5, 2008 2:30 PM

Favorite color: White or black.. they go with everything.

My crack story? I had my baby Christmas day 2006. I went out to "relax" with a group of friends in February.
I got a little smashed, stepped back and fell over the step heading up to my barstool. What did my friends see?? MY BUTT!...

I need these Hip T's to help ease my embarrassed behind!

cherylc December 5, 2008 9:13 PM

I love the basics, would probably get tons of use from a brown or black.

I was on the ground doing something when my 4 year old came over and tried to pull my pants up higher around my waist. I turned to look at her and she said, "mom, the cracks were showing"
LOL

love the black - I love the way the low rise jeans fit through the legs but hate that they are low rise - why oh why do we put up with it - who thought this was a good idea - I have to wear a belt so tight just to keep them up otherwise I am always hikeing up my jeans!!!!
Oh did I say I was a 65 year old grandmother so dont have a lot of friends to discuss the problem with!!!

kathemc,  December 7, 2008 1:40 PM

The basic black one. I have hopefully never been spotted with plumber's crack, but there have definitely been times that I've bent or sat and felt a cold breeze where one was not wanted! Hopefully I fixed it, though, before I was spotted!

Ginny December 7, 2008 7:52 PM

I want the black lace one. I don't have anything specif, however I am always tugging at my shirt to make sure I don't have that.

One time though, I was at the school talent show rehearsal. We had come from dance & I had my daughters huge dance bag & all her clothes, etc. I was wallking & this mom in front of me saw me coming with all my stuff & slammed the door on me. I was so mad! When I got in there, she was bending down fixing her kid & her behind on was hanging out! I had a good time laughing about that :)

I'm pretty paranoid about this but there was one time at work a couple years ago when I had to bend over and I thought it would be ok because I was wearing a jacket but it wasn't. I really like this idea! I like basic black or white, but the olive color is nice....hard decision. Daily you can find me hiking up my pants before I go to bend down. Then I will either hold my shirt down in the back or hold my pants up in the back. It's all so ridiculous, but there is no way I want to show my behind off. If only "mom jeans" would come into style. I can see it now. Models walking down the catwalk in mom jeans....
