The Retote by TerraCycle

>> January 19, 2009

I am ashamed to say that I have never really been one to get into the whole green movement. I didn't recycle my cans, and I asked for plastic at the grocery store. I received an email one day that made me take a whole new look at our environment and what our choices are doing to it. This particular email contained the above images of animals stuck and at times choking on plastic grocery bags. Usually when you take that quick trip to the grocery store your mind is occupied with the things on your list, whether your kids are behaving or not, etc. Do you really stop and think about the containers your food products come in? Do you think about what happens to those plastic grocery bags when you throw them away?

Terra Cycle Inc. has a very unique and interesting program to help eliminate some of that landfill waste. They actually pay you for recycling certain products. For instance they collect juice pouches, Oreo bags, and cliff bar wrappers and turn them into super hip handbags, lunch bags, and pencil cases that are sold at Target stores. They also use newspaper, cardboard, wine corks and even diskettes to make into things such as folders, ink pens, note pads, and cork boards.

The picture above is of Terra Cycle's Retote. Each Retote is made by fusing together over 20 plastic bags. I love my Retote! I recently used it during a bridal shower that I was co-hosting. I was able to fill it with everything that I needed to take to the party. It is extremly durable and well made. It will certainly be going with me on my next trip to the grocery store. As moms we can always use a bag that is multi functional and large enough to carry all our stuff. The Retote is the bag for you. Plus....you just feel good using it and doing your small part to better our environment.

BUY IT
The Retote and other Terra Cycle products can be purchased at Target, and online at Gardner's Supply Company, Ideal True Value, and Clean Air Gardening.
The Retote retails for only $5.99.

WIN IT
Now, you have a chance to win a Retote. All you have to do is go www.terracycle.net, take a look around then come back and tell me one interesting fact that you learned from their site.

They started by proving you could profitably market worm poop. They buy various items to produce their recycled products. The way that they do this makes ideal modest fundraisers for schools and even small scout groups.

A true friend is not a friend that you can see and know that they are there without a doubt. A true friend is a friend you truly have faith in without a doubt. True friendship is when you don't see that friend but you know that they are there and you learn to trust and believe in them…that one day you will see them without a doubt! I wa t everyone to feel this way…I WILL make everyone feel this way. Runescape gave me that chance…to know what true friendship really is. Together, we flew in the sky , over the ocean , in a dream that lasted forever! With unbroken bonds of the new existence. I DECLARE THESE BONDS UNBROKEN. I will fly with them forever in a dream that turns to the new reality.I am a blinding light made new, emptied of all preexisting darkness, and I will guide those in the darkness.Believe me..when I say I will do something, I will most likely do it eventually. I live to be the very best, not fine, not decent, good, amazing or outstanding. I live to be the very best.I burned fires of infinitism down the longest path that existed for eternity shedding tears…with my friends in the most magical and legendary lake of all time. These friends are the light that shines in the distant…you are the one in the darkness…looking for that light! That light. Is the only thing there to trust, you leave it to chance. One day you find it but it disappears. You can only have faith. That the light is still there. I found that light and I constantly lose it but I learn to trust it even more. I WILL win THIS. I DECLARE IT!!!!!!!!!!! This is how bad I want to win!
