This precious hat from Petite Fleur Designs arrived on our front porch just in time for the beginning of spring weather. I've always thought a mid-weight hat would be nice; spring can be kinda chilly around here, but by now I'm tired of our heavy winter hats. This hat is absolutely perfect in every way.
The Romantic Shimmer Brown hat is a heavy crochet, very sturdily woven, and extremely stretchy. The ladies at Petite Fleur say that these hats will fit babies up through 9 years old! Of course I had to test this out, so after trying the hat on my neighbor's 8 month old daughter, I snuck up on my 8 year old son and plopped it on his head. It fit very nicely, but was quickly removed when my other son started giggling and pointed out the flower!
My 2 year old daughter has worn this hat quite a bit already, and I gotta say, it's pretty durable. I was a little worried because of the pretty silk flower and the Swarovski crystals, and thought it might be a special occasion hat only. However, she's dropped it on the mulch at the playground and pitched out of her carseat onto the van floor, and it looks good as new. I'm excited to have something this pretty that she'll be able to use for so long!
