Even though you couldn't tell it by the weather here in Ohio lately.....summer is right around the corner. With summer comes exposure of skin. Oh no! Shorts, tank tops, and bathing suits. That's right! Time to start working on getting in shape so that you can feel comfortable in your own skin this summer.
Some things that I generally do to start getting ready for summer include choosing healthier food options, drinking more water and increasing my activity level. I watch how many sweets I eat. I have a major Sweet Tooth and so as long as I keep that in check - my other eating habits are great. Chocolate is my soft spot LOL!

I keep track of everything I eat-- good or bad. It helps me think twice before I eat something high calorie/junky/etc, because my entries show up in a toolbar in Firefox. So when I overeat, I can see it in my "Eat Meter" every time I'm on the internet... which is A LOT. So that helps keep me on track... most of the time, anyway. :)

Don't deprive yourself of any food or you'll eventually pig out on it. Moderation is the key. Have a couple bites of your favorite food and stop at that if it's not good for you (after all, who's favorite food is celery -- except for my guinea pigs!)
My biggest downfall has been food shopping, where I made poor choices. This year, I have avoided buying junk and processed foods, and do more homemade cooking. We have all lost weight, and we exercise with our WII Fit.

Pay attention. I know...it sounds simple, but it is really harder than you would think. If you are really paying attention and tracking what you are eating it makes a HUGE difference!

Only snack on fruits, vegetables and raw unsalted seeds or nuts. For fitness, always walk, bike or take the stairs when possible.
my kids eat alot of Yoplait. They love the yogurt and my little one loves the yogurt drinks also.
try to get 7-8 hours of sleep.
We like to ride bikes and swim in the summertime. My children just love fresh fruit and eating Gogurts for snacks.

I try to eat as many fruits and veggies as possible each day.
I get a walking partner and shoot for walking 3 nights a week. I challenge myself to drink at least 64 oz of water daily. I attempt to cook with fresh foods as much as possible.

My secret is to NOT try to stick to a rigid diet. If you want to succeed, learn how to eat smaller portions and always balance out what you eat daily to fit your lifestyle.

The only way that I have found that I can eat healthy is by writing down what I eat. I find that this works very well. I also think that going for walks works well also. I know that walking on a treadmill is not always fun but the time is coming that we can get outside more. YEAH

Feed the kids a variety of fruits and veggies, even if you have to "sneak" them in. Also, make sure they drink plenty of water and stick to one dessert a day. In the spring/summer, plant a garden and take daily walks for exercise.

I walk for an hour a day and drink lots of water!
We try to stay active - get outside riding bikes, hiking in the state park or swimming. I try to keep the fridge and pantry stocked with healthy snacks so they kids don't reach for junk!
Drink 8 cups of water/day, monitor your blood pressure, weight, your body (for any changes), and exercise.

I follow WeightWatchers and they empathsize watching the fat, calories and fiber in your foods plus getting exercise and watching portion control! I've lost 35 pounds so far!!!

I do a couple of things regularly: one, I almost never buy lunch out when I'm at work. Most restaurants serve food in too big portions, which encourages people to overeat. Two, I keep junk food out of the house. Out of sight, out of mind!

I'm not sure this is healthy, but I am on what I call the toddler diet..you know I get whatever the kids have left over...and usually eat a yogurt at night.
I definitely know that not eating at the fast food restaurants has helped me. I can make my family's meals and know exactly what the ingredients are that are going into them.

Don't keep unhealthy food in the house! If you're craving an unhealthy snack, having to go to the store for it will make you think hard before eating it!

I totally avoid unhealthy food. I am like a horse with blinders. I am going to use this stuff for the gym
One of the ways that I stay healthy is by substituting unhealthy ingredients in recipes for more healthy choices. For example, avocado is an excellent substitute for mayo on a sandwich. Of course, exercise is needed to stay healthy as well.
