Mary Kay Cosmetics; Time Wise

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when I say, "Pink Cadillac"?  For me, it's always Mary Kay Cosmetics.  As a teenager, I thought the pink car was cheesy, but I gotta admit as an adult, I've seen them driving a time or two and they're kinda pretty!

In my mind, Mary Kay is an American icon like baseball, Marilyn Monroe or apple pie.  Strangely enough, I was in the cosmetology industry for 10 years and somehow never found myself within easy access of any Mary Kay products.  Fortunately for me, I  recently happened to meet Allison Wilson, the winner of one of my giveaways.  And she's a Mary Kay representative!

Upon my request, she generously sent me two full-sized skin care products and another box filled to the brim with samples galore.  Over the past two weeks, I've had the privilege of pampering my skin with the TimeWise 3-in-1 cleanser, the TimeWise age-fighting moisturizer, the TimeWise microdermabrasion kit, and some beautiful eyeshadow, lipstick and mascara.

The TimeWise cleanser goes on wet skin with your fingers, similar to old-school cold cream.  My skin never felt dry or tight, just smooth, soft and clean.  The moisturizer was also nice, not too heavy and without an overpowering scent.  I get a fierce headache if I put anything too "smelly" on my face!

The microdermabrasion kit was a bit of a surprise...the first step is a product that you pump out only a tiny bit of and apply to moist skin.  The best way for me to describe it is that it was a sharp cream!  It was easy to apply, though, and after rinsing there was a second cream to replenish my skin.  I went a little crazy with it the first week because my skin looked and felt so soft and young. (not that I'm old or anything!)

I really loved everything Allison sent me, but I have to say that my two favorite things were the mascara, and the eyeshadow color called Blue Metal.  I consider myself a mascara aficionado, and aside from maybe one or two other mascaras I have ever tried, this one was a winner, hands down.  I have long eyelashes (don't hate me!) and I like a really dry formula so that they look thicker and not spidery.  This one was PERFECT!!  And, the Blue Metal eyeshadow really made my blue eyes stand out.
