Pearl Distributors {Giveaway}

When you think of pearl necklaces, what images come to mind? Possibly Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Breakfast at Tiffany's or maybe even Donna Reed cleaning her house in high heels, and apron and a string of pearls? Well, I'm here to tell you that pearl jewelry didn't go out of fashion with the passing of the 1950's. It has always been and may always be a symbol of sheer elegance. I mean who wouldn't feel beautiful going out on a date with their hubby with a gorgeous pearl necklace around your neck!
Pearl Distributors was kind enough to send me a string of their .6-.7mm Black Tahitian pearls for review. Let me just say they are simply beautiful. I wouldn't have called myself a pearl person before...only because I really wasn't aware that pearls came in any other color besides the traditional white. Did you know that pearls also come in black, lavender, pink & peach and golden?
So what makes Pearl Distributors better than their competitors?
Quality: At Pearl Distributors they only sell genuine saltwater and freshwater pearls. They do not sell pearls of a lower quality than AA+.
Guarantee: They offer a full 100% money back guarantee for 90 days.
Family oriented rather than impersonal: The are a family run business and take a personal interest in each customer to make sure they get exactly what they’re looking for.
Price: They get pearls direct from pearl farms in China, French Polynesia, Japan and the South Pacific and sell directly to the public without the expense of a retail store, so pass on the savings to their customers. Their jewelry is sold at more than 80% less than its retail value. So if a man wants to buy his wife a $1500 pearl set, he can get it for $300 from them.
Free Shipping: They offer free shipping for any purchase over $75.
BUY IT:
In addition to their beautiful pearl necklaces, Pearl Distributors also sells earrings, bracelets, pendants and sets. Prices start as low as $29
They are also running a pre-season Holiday sale, so you won't want to miss out on that!
WIN IT:
Now you have a chance to win your very own .6-.7mm pearl necklace in the color of your choice. All you have to do is visit www.pearldistributors.com take a look around then return here and tell me something that you learned.

A common and fairly reliable test for fake pearls is to simply rub the pearl gently across your teeth. The surface of the cultured or natural pearl should feel rough, or “sandy”, due to the unique build up of the nacreous surface. A fake pearl will generally feel smooth across your teeth, like glass or plastic.
Seriously if someone puts my pearls in their mouth I'm going to pop them upside their head!

i found this intresting........The Chinese are among the first to have recorded the use of Pearl Jewelry in their text going back as far a 4,000 years. In the symbolic language of ancient China, pearls represented preciousness and purity. The imperial house accepted pearls in payment for taxes, and a pearl was placed in the mouths of the deceased who came from wealthy families. In fact they were known to actually specified Freshwater Pearls from the river of Hwai in a southern province. There is also documented evidence of Saltwater Pearls from the Sea on the coast of China and the coast of Japan.

Care of pearls: Avoid harsh chemicals getting on your pearls...apply hair spray and perfume before putting them on...wipe them with a damp cloth when you take them off to remove body oils.

What lovely pearl jewelry! I have a fair complexion and learned on the site that natural peach/pink, natural lavender, white with rose overtones, and black pearls look best with that skin tone. Interesting!

I've never even heard of South Sea Pearls and learned that they are among the largest pearls around. I also learned that it can take years for them to find enough pearls to match enough to make a longer strand of them for something like a necklace. Thanks for the great giveaway!

I learned that long ago the origin of Pearls was explained as “there is a sea shell, which is named purple shell. It comes from the bottom of the sea…, opens its mouth and drinks up the sky’s dew and the rays of the sun, the moon and the stars, and these superior lights bring the pearl to completion.”

Pearl Distributors sell for 88 percent less than competitors. I would like the peach colored pearls.

I learned that the recorded oldest piece of pearl jewelry is almost 3,000 years old dating back a time from the 7th to the 9th Century B.C.
