TerraCycle teams up with Kimberly-Clark

>> November 20, 2009

I have worked with TerraCycle in the past on a review and giveaway of their Retote. I love how this company takes our trash and turns it back into usable products thus keeping it out of our landfills. You have probably seen their products in stores...like their Capri Sun juice pouch bags etc.

I'm excited to let you know that TerraCycle has recently teamed up with Kimberly-Clark to upcycle the plastic packaging from diapers and paper products into high quality products that will be available next year at locations nationwide.

To help encourage the maximum participation and collection of used product packaging, consumers can sign up for free to create a Brigade location. Schools, business, houses of worship and even individuals are encouraged to join a Brigade and sign up today at www.terracycle.net/brigades. For every piece of packaging a Brigade participant collects, two cents is paid to a school or non-profit group of their choice.

Each of these Brigade programs is diverting product packaging waste from landfills, giving much needed funding to local communities and helping to raise consumer awareness about reusing and reducing.
So be sure to keep an eye out for these new products.
