What Are The Odds? Review & Giveaway

>> August 16, 2010

I grew up in a musical household. There was always music playing, songs being sung, and someone dancing.

Since my boys were born, they have listened to music, been sang to, and been danced with. I am always in search of new music with fun lyrics to sing to and dance to with my children.

I was contacted by Waldmania recently and asked if I would like to review Meredith Levande's second full-length children's CD, What Are the Odds? I quickly jumped at the opportunity.

Meredith LeVande became an instant hit with families nationwide five years ago with the release of her debut album, Monkey Monkey Music with Meredith LeVande. Since that time, Meredith has devoted herself to performing for children in intimate settings, becoming a favorite among NYC area families.

Meredith LeVande has a deep commitment to putting "the child" back into children's music. Her songs are joy-filled expressions of pure, childlike fun. One listening is all it takes to recognize that Meredith really loves being around children.

My children and I have thoroughly enjoyed Meredith's newest CD What Are The Odds? The boys have been learning and dancing to songs like "Turn Your Body Around" and "Circle." My personal favorite is "What Are the Odds?" and I find myself singing it out loud in the shower and while I'm getting ready for work.

Three Little Fishies!

I grew up listening to records my parents collected - and now my girls enjoy "those great big CDs" - but they know just about every song from the Muppet Movie and Annie thanks to those albums ;)

Would love some new music to jam to with my niece & nephews!

My favorite Children's Song is "Tomorrow". I am not sure if that is the actual title, but it is the song from the broadway musical "Little Orphan Annie." CleverlyChanging.com

Hello, great prize. Just saw Natalie Merchant last week and she performed her latest album of childrens tunes "Leave Your sleep". Lots of great songs on there, but "The Land of Nod" is one I can recommend. My email is listed on my blog, but to save you time should I win it's adaddyblog@gmail.com. Have a great day!
