>> September 21, 2010

The transition from summer to school signals the start of busier schedules, which can make it challenging for families to stay connected. That's why NESTLE TOLL HOUSE is sharing new ideas, occasions and reasons to bake - because baking brings people together and helps make memories.

Now is the perfect time to find sweet ways to connect and spend time together.

Some ideas from NESTLE TOLL HOUSE to help keep families connected during back-to-school season:

Brighten your child's day by packing a homemade cookie in his or her lunch, along with a note letting them know you're thinking about them while they're at school.

Play with your food! For fun, after-school activities use NESTLE TOLL HOUSE Refrigerated Cookie Dough to create cookie puzzles and other fun cookie games the whole family can enjoy.

Support your child's sports team or after-school club with a bake sale. No bake sale is complete without NESTLE TOLL HOUSE chocolate chip cookies!

Create special weekend moments and enjoy family breakfast together. For a sweet start to a Saturday morning, try adding new NESTLE TOLL HOUSE MINI Morsel Toppers to chocolate chip pancakes.

When I think of the Fall season I think of back-to-school and baking. When my kids get home from school I want them to have something yummy to eat and be able to talk with me about their day. Nothing makes things more special than homemade goodies.

The first day of school we always bake chocolate chip cookies so they are ready when the kiddos come home! It's a special treat they look forward to every year.

Jingle September 21, 2010 9:19 AM

I don't have kids, but my husband is a teacher and I like to make back to school special for him by including a card in his bag (hidden) on his first day and having a good dinner to celebrate the start of a new year!

debbie September 21, 2010 9:19 AM

I try to have special homemade snacks. They make the day go a little better.

It truly is amazing what a homemade chocolate chip cookie can do to boost spirits. And having Saturday breakfast as a family is something we try to do every week. Family dinners are important but as important is a fun filled, kids choose yummy goodness of a weekend breakfast.

That's a neat looking kit..I also didn't know about the new toppers!

Well, when I was raising my brothers, I used to always bake them treats the weekend before and/or 1st day of school..Breakfast was also important, so I'd get up extra early to make them a great, hot breakfast on school mornings!

Thanks for the chance to win!
